Ashgrove Nursery school is proud to be part of the Eco-schools Programme run across Ireland by Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful.  This international initiative supports schools in making sustainable, environmentally aware changes to their learning.

At Ashgrove, children, staff and families work together to develop our school grounds, reduce our waste and energy use, explore biodiversity and build strong eco-habits that link with our curriculum and values.  Through our action plans and pupil led projects we're helping young learners become confident, responsible global citizens who care for our world "one little step at a time."

As a Nursery setting we're especially committed to embedding early-years environmental awareness from outdoor play investigations and planting activities to recycling routines and caring for wild life.  We see the Eco Schools framework as not just a flag but a way to embed sustainable practice into our daily life and to set a positive example in our community.
